Hello!
Did a some kind of oiler a month ago and thought I'll share it.
The idea is to use solenoid valve to start and stop oiling.
Found a suitable one from eBay
NB! It's 12V gravity feed solenoid valve.
Cost $15.49 + $7.95 (item+shipping)
Other parts altogether cost less than 5€.
Some of them:
Used silicon clue (not the on that is based on vinegar, used some kind of Wurth polymer mass) for connecting parts and got this one:
From reservoir there are two hoses: one for oil flow and the other one for breathing. It would have been better if the last one would have been on the other side but this way it was easier for me.
The dual injection is made from WD40 spraying stick that is cut to half.
On the top there are hose clamp for mounting it to gear change shaft. The wire that should help to position the dropping points was not so good idea in this way. Later used less wire for positioning and some cable ties to do this.
Now the installation. As I use gravity for flow the reservoir must put to highest place (under rear mudguard) and next parts go lower and lower.
The valve gets the signal from fuel pump so when the engine starts the valve opens and starts to oil and when it stops the oiling ends. I use one clamp that squeezes the bottom hose for regulating the flow.
All this works fine. I've been quite lazy to regulate the right flow (1-2 drops per minute) so there are quite much oil at the moment. And I think that I should replace the reservoir bottle (Rexona shower gel) for better one cause I think when it get hit with a rock it will be smashed.
Cheers,
